About Us
Students for the Exploration and Development of Space- Kathmandu University is a student-run organization that aims to promote space science, technology and research at Kathmandu University. The organization provides students with opportunities to learn about space, participate in space-related projects and events, and engage with the space community.
SEDS Kathmandu University also works to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers by promoting STEM education and encouraging students to pursue careers in the space industry. We provide opportunities to students to attend workshops, seminars and other space-related events and also conduct their own events and projects such as CubeSat, High Altitude Ballooning, and many more. The organization also provides a platform for students to network with other space enthusiasts, industry professionals, and researchers. Through its various activities and initiatives, SEDS Kathmandu University aims to create a community of space enthusiasts who are passionate about space exploration and the development of space technology.
Our Activities
SEDS-KU conducts a variety of activities that are aimed at promoting space science, technology, and research among students. Some of the activities that SEDS KU conducts are:
Projects
We conduct various space-related projects to work on real-world problems and develop skills in space-related fields such as CubeSat, High Altitude Ballooning, and many more.
Events
We also collaborate with other SEDS chapters, space agencies and organizations to conduct space-related projects and events.

We conduct a variety of research activities that are aimed at promoting space science, technology, and research among students
Workshops
SEDS KU conducts workshops and seminars on various space-related topics such as CAD/CAM, Electronics, programming and many more.

Pico HAB
Nepal’s first High Altitude Balloon Project
Pico High Altitude Balloon (picoHAB) is a type of high-altitude ballooning project that uses small, lightweight weather balloons to carry payloads to high altitudes, typically around 20-30 km. These balloons are launched to conduct atmospheric research and to study the Earth’s upper atmosphere.
